The shooter would have more of a challenge killing students if a teacher is armed with a handgun. The teacher could save many lives and injuries by defending their students. Moreover, A teacher could defend herself and save their own life with the help of their gun. They would have a better chance of surviving and helping others. If a teacher did not have a gun to defend students from the shooter the students would have to hide, a gun can solve the situation more easily.
