Banning Guns Persuasive Speech

On an average day in the United States 93 americans are killed by gun violence. There are also 1000’s of cases that involve a child being injured or killed by a stray bullet every year. Does this mean that guns are dangerous or does it mean we are using guns for the wrong intention? There are many reasons people use guns but like everything else some people use it for good and some for evil. Since the United States can't take away all of our guns I feel there should be some guns you should be able to purchase at your local store for self-defense or hunting and there are also some guns in which you should go through heavy background checks to be able to purchase. I think we should ban the purchase of the AK-47 and other guns in that class as …show more content…
Every time there is a mass shooting some people call the NRA and tell them there needs to be an increase in regulation for these guns so they can stop gun violence but what they don't understand is that guns have been around for so long that mostly everyone already owns a gun and once someone owns a gun you can't take it from them. If they completely banned guns I feel that would be much more dangerous as there will still be a black market for guns just like anything else that's illegal. If the teachers can get a hold on a gun and then tell the guy with the gun that every class is packed and ready to shoot then I believe the maniac will come to his senses and get out of the school. I feel the same way about guns in the workplace. For example at my mom's shop, she was looking at the cameras and someone was breaking into a truck late at night and instead of my mom having a gun for self-defense at her work place she had to take cover as the robber shot a bullet in her direction. This is why I feel so strongly about gun rights and where you can and can't take them. In conclusion I feel that everyone is entitled to their 2nd amendment but what will make everyone safe is the heavy background checks to make sure you are not a potential deadly person. Even if you tried to wipe out all the guns in America there would still be the black market or even private sales of illegal firearms. Now this is a question for you, who kills people? The gun or the HUMAN behind the
