Should Schools Be Allowed To Have Sponsoors

“Nearly half of all public elementary schools and about 80 percent of public high schools operated under pouring rights contracts”(Phillpott). Eighty percent of all high schools are sponsored by either Coke or Pepsi as their drink provider. There are countless number of other companies that help support schools across the nation. In discussions of education, one controversial topic has been the idea of corporate sponsors. On one hand, people say that the only schools that need funds should have them. On the other hand, people argue that any school should be able to have sponsors. Schools should be allowed to have corporate sponsors because it enables any school to improve their equipment.
As Americans, we need to do what is best for the greatest amount of people. By allowing companies to advertise at schools, we are benefiting millions of school children and companies. This

Companies will boast about how safe their products are and how they are “kid friendly”. Parents will research which car seats are the safest. The issue of safety has always been important for the average American because we are protecting the minds of our future generation. The first reason schools should be allowed to have sponsorships is because they can buy new sports equipment with the money. Most schools in America have outdated sports gear, even though the new equipment is much safer for the players. I used to participate in football back in the eighth grade. When the coach gave out helmets I received one of the older ones. I thought nothing of it, but later in that year I began to have serious headaches. The worn out pads in my helmet made me more vulnerable to head a head injury. If my school had extra money to buy the newer helmets, then I could have gotten a safer helmet, which would have helped with my headaches.
