Why Should Student Athletes Be Paid?

High Schools across the United States all either have an arrangement with an endorser or have had an arrangement with an endorser. These endorsements are what keep major companies running although it is small impact to their general income it still plays a part in their company revenue. Athletic administrators are ones in charge for arranging these agreements with specific companies. They want to wear the great brands ex. Nike, Adidas, and Under Armour. Such brands like this should provide special equipment with the purchase of new uniforms every/other season. Brands should provide cleats and other apparel when an agreement is made that the school will wear their brand the upcoming season. Many families cannot afford to purchase new equipment every year, there are many reasons why a family cannot afford to provide their kid with new equipment. In the United States parents spend $671 on average per year to cover the costs of uniforms, registration fees, and private lessons and coaching. Many cannot handle school and an extracurricular activity. Those who can sustain the stress, pain and hard work on and off the court should receive some sort of benefit from the school board. In college most athletes are on scholarship meaning gettin money, why not in High school the school can at least provide them with free equipment. The most important thing for any athlete is to know his ability.
