Should Physician Assisted Suicide Be Allowed

Physician assisted suicide is a huge conversation right now due to terminally ill patients wanting the option to end their lives. The patients, who will eventually die from their disease, deserve the option to die where they want and when they want. Terminally ill patients are moving from one state to another so they receive a certain drug that will eventually take their lives. In my opinion, I think this offer should not only be offered to terminally ill patients but those who are suffering from a mental illness that changes who they are. Patients with certain illnesses should be able to end their suffering through physician assisted suicide. Terminally ill patients are suffering every day due to the treatments they have to go through or the pain from the illness. Because of the harsh treatments that some people have to go through, they might decide to end their suffering and choose to reject the treatment. I do not believe anyone has a death wish, but the majority of people do not want to suffer for the rest of their life. Patients with depression or other mental illnesses should not have to suffer from their conditions if they have the option of physician assisted suicide. People can get so depressed or their life can change so much that they cannot go to a therapist and get the help they need. These kinds of people should be tested and showed they have a mental illness. People with mental illnesses suffer every day because they do not want to be on this Earth and have a miserable life. Instead of letting people suffer, they should let them end their lives and have a happy afterlife.
