Secondhand smoke causes many health problems in infants and children, including the most frequent and severe attacks of asthma, respiratory infections, ear infections, and sudden infant death syndrome.

• Some of the health problems caused by secondhand smoke in adults include coronary heart disease, stroke and poumon cancer1,4.

• Studies show that older children whose parents smoke get sick more often. Their lungs grow less than children who do not breathe secondhand smoke, and get more bronchitis and pneumonia.
