Milestone Two The SWOT analysis is a great tool that you can use to identify and analyze your strengths and weaknesses as well as the opportunities and threats that you face. This will help you to focus on your strengths, minimize your weaknesses, and take the greatest possible advantage of opportunities you have. Finding out your talents and what you can do that others can’t, will help you to succeed more in life. Similarly, identifying your weaknesses and managing them will help you to lower the number of problems you used to struggle with. In the first Milestone I talked about motivating others and empowering and now I would like to focus on leading to postive change. When it comes to my personal capabilities to lead to positive change, I believe I tend to do very well. I took an assesment in my mangerial class, Leading to positive change was one of my top three skills that my associates ranked me for. For example, whenever I am working on a group project in school, I always try to create a positive energy and try to interact with them. I also try to give my team members positive feedback whenever someone performs well. I encourage good environment where people feel free to speak their mind out, think outside the box, and share whatever ideas that came to them. The more comfortable people are to express their thoughts and ideas, the more productive we become as a team. In the work place, in order for Organization to become successful, top management must be able to lead and foster a positive change. Leading change and leading positive change are said to be two different things. Leading positive change, as I have learned, takes a great amount of skill and know-how in order to execute it well within the organization or group of people a person is working with. When it comes to delegating, managers must know when to give tasks to others and when to perform themselves. Managers must be able to know their desired result and specify the constraints such as making employees aware of the work standards and deadlines. Additionally, managers should assign work accordingly to their subordinates. When a person is given a task, his or her responsibility should match the amount of authority he or she has. All in all, proper empowerment and delegation will foster proactivity and innovativeness, intrinsic motivation and high morale and commitment. To conclude, by building up my strength, overcoming my weaknesses, taking advantages of opportunities, and turning the threats into opportunities.
