It is easy to pick up that the director carefully picked the outfits of the actors so that they matched the personality of the actors, which helped to make the persona of the characters more transparent. A perfect example of this is the outfit Chris Chambers wore throughout the movie; blue jeans and a white tee. A textile symbol of the bad boy stigma that engulfed young male culture in the 1950’s. The outfit meshed well with Chris and his brash personality. While it is clear the personalities of the boys almost immediately, Rob Reiner does a great job with his use of camera angles and lighting to give the audience a deeper feeling of understanding towards each character. There is a scene where the boys are camping out for the night surrounded by the campfire and sharing their most random, deepest thoughts which nearly everyone can relate to. Reiner’s use of camera work is great in this film as well especially in his use of symbolism. This movie is based on Stephen King's novella ''The Body,' and Richard Dreyfuss did a great job narrating this film. This film was absolutely worthwhile and brought me back to some of my greatest memories growing up with my friends. This movie does a wonderful job of making you feel as though you are there with the boys on their journey both physically and emotionally with the acting and camera angles. This movie also does a wonderful job of capturing the nostalgic moments of the coming of age life changing experiences afterwards because of those experiences. The narration captured some of the simplest yet most important ideas of the movies such as at the end after all the boys head home and end up going different directions in life, Richard Dreyfuss said “friends come in and out of your life like bus boys at a restaurant” and then ends the movie warmly after writing the last sentence in his memoir “I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was
