The Middle Ages and the Renaissance era bring a great deal of controversy for the reason that; they were two different time periods. Was the Renaissance with its unique advances, a distinct period from the Middle Ages? In my opinion, I believe it was a different time period. There are numerous differences between the two periods. The art is a major difference, as well as the ways of thinking, and the architecture. Art in the Middle Ages differed from art in the Renaissance in many ways. One way, is that artists in the Middle Ages were very strict and plain. There wasn’t much detail in the paintings, no shadows, everything was one dimensional, there wasn’t any sculptures, and lastly the colors schemes were very dark and gloomy. Doc 1
In contrast, art in the Renaissance consisted of vibrant color palettes, sculptures, unique shapes, etc. In the first document, it talks about the origin of the Renaissance. The origin was provoked by the loss of interest in the Gothic art styles of the Middle Ages, the plain taste in expression, etc. Thus, led to the rebirth of the new era; new cultures, arts, etc. Architecture began flourishing once the Renaissance era was established. In the Renaissance era, humanists began to flourish. Humanists were optimistic people who saw light even in the darkest of times. The typical medieval man was well-rounded in usually one subject only. The typical Renaissance man was versatile in many subjects.
