Registered Physician Assistant

As a college student, I am studying to be in the medical field. Wanting to be in the medical field has been my dream as a kid. There are many job positions to choose from, we must investigate every single one, because it will be our career and what we live off. I want to become a registered nurse. What is a registered nurse? Well, they are a level higher than a practitioner nurse. Registered nurses, or RN’s, receive a higher pay. What do RN’s do? Well they do a little of everything such as, treating patients, assist the doctor in surgeries or exams, help the patient understand their health issues, also they can work in the lab. To become an RN, you must earn a Bachelor of Science in nursing which can take up to four years. There are over two million job opportunities in the registered nurse field. After I become a registered nurse, I want to work my way up to be a physician assistant. A physician assistant or PA, works under the supervision of the doctor or surgeon. To become a PA, a master’s degree is needed, it can take two to four years to complete. A physician assistant can prescribe medication, which an RN cannot do. Radiologists oversee taking MRI’s (magnetic resonance imaging), CT scans (computed tomography scan), and x-rays. With these scans the doctor will be able to diagnose the injury or illness. Also, with the exams cancer and other non-noticeable diseases can be diagnosed. Radiologist work mainly in hospitals but can also work in small healthcare facilities.
