Becoming a Registered Nurse is challenging. Not many people are worthy of the job. Registered Nurses help people, families, and groups to achieve health and prevent diseases. RN’s care for the sick in hospitals and health care facilities. Some Registered Nurses are employed in privateer practices. RN’s hold about 2.6 million jobs in the United States. Registered Nurses work under the direct supervision of physicians. Sixty percent of all Registered Nurses work in hospitals. While working in hospitals Registered Nurses may be assigned to many different departments. Nurses work together with other members of the healthcare team to asses the patient's condition and to develop and implement a plan of healthcare. Registered Nursing is a female dominant job. Males in this career normally make more than the average female in this career. There are no physical and health qualifications, but supervisors usually like to look for people who are able to lift and carry things. The experience needed to become a Registered Nurses depends on which college program or path you take. 98.5% of all RN’s have attended a 4 year university nursing program. The nurses with this education background are known to get paid more. As of now in high school I will prepare myself for this career by taking as many health and science classes as possible. After high school I go on to a four year university to attend a nursing program. To be a RN you have many options.
