Red Lobster's Advertising Inspires Seafood Lovers

Decent Essays
I think Red Lobster inspires seafood lovers and enthusiasts of all ages given the quality of the seafood they serve. Their advertising is really meant to romance the dishes they create at their restaurants. I know the No. 1 reason people come to Red Lobster is to fulfill a seafood craving. If Red Lobster's efforts through advertising help the broader industry as a whole, I believe Red Lobster is more than happy to play that role.

For example, the author of this commercial obviously thinks that Charmin is the number one brand for toilet paper. That is all an opinion though because everybody has different tastes. Since the author believes that Charmin is the best toilet paper around, it must also mean that the author believes that it is the softest and longest lasting toilet paper. Another appeal that is used is pathos. The bears set off an emotional aspect that gets the audience to watch the commercial.…

The ASPCA: A Guilt Trip Most organizations and companies successfully advertise their ideas in commercials by appealing to the audience most likely to indulge in them. The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) crafts its commercial to target animal lovers. In order to convince this target audience to donate to the ASPCA’s cause, their commercial unfairly plays with viewers’ emotions by using heroic word choice, displays depictions of animals, and utilizes a celebrity endorsement; however, its use of uncertified facts undermines the organization’s credibility.…

Many advertisers use hidden symbols to manipulate consumers into buying or watching products they neither want nor need. According to Charles I. Brooks, author of How Psychology Applies to Everyday Life, “advertising executives try to convey a product message to viewers.” Shark week advertisement in PEOPLE Magazine is a great example of how this magazine uses psychology to capture the audience 's attention. Let’s take a look at how this magazine is effective by analyzing the image and text, the context of the advertisement, and the metaphoric context behind the title.…

I believe that animal lovers, pet owners, and anyone who feels the need to nurture or protect others are the intended audience of this advertisement. The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) is all about saving animals and ensuring that they are treated humanely. Anyone who cares about animals could appreciate what they are doing, so it makes them the perfect target audience. Additionally, the ASPCA claims that "Animals can't speak for themselves, so it is up to us to do it for them," and "You can help these animals when nobody else will." Those words can be highly persuasive to anyone who has the need to nurture or protect others.…

There are many cookies out there like oreos, but they likely don’t produce as much revenue as Oreos do because they are not advertised. This is not to say that those cookies aren’t delicious, but not as many people are aware of the off-brand cookies.
