What is racial profiling and when did it start? What kind of people does it affect? How many people died because of racial profiling itself? These are just some of the questions that I am going to answer for you today. Racial profiling in my opinion is horrible and should be stopped, but it could only be stopped if people wanted it to stop. There are many things on the news today about the shooting with police, and many people thinking it has to deal with racial profiling. There is information all over the news and internet about Black Lives Matter and other things to. I believe that the information I am going to give is going to be helpful to understand the real reasoning on racial profiling. I am also going to share the information and facts on why police officers are doing what they are doing and does it really go along with their motto which is to serve and protect. I believe that they are just doing there job at a high consent. What do I mean by that you might ask? Well I mean that there kinda following the law in their own way. There are many more definitions of racial profiling but i thought that this one was the strongest. To continue, the 1700s was a very rough time for all people of African descent aka: blacks. Many if not all blacks were treated unequally and used for slavery. In 1704 the first slave patrol was founded in South Carolina. The slave patrol was used to capture any runaway slaves. Blacks slaves were all over the southern states, and in order not to be a slave you would have to walk around with your freedom papers. These papers to black people were there why of having and living a little bit better of a life. But if you were caught and didn’t have your papers you were subjected to interrogations, harassment, whippings, and other physical punishment even some of it leading to death of that person. As time went on the groups got worst of people who believed that racial profiling was okay.
