Planned Parenthood Pros And Cons

There are two very distinct sides that continuously argue over the funding for Planned Parenthood, both sides present very well organized arguments; however, there are pros and cons to both sides. One might ask what exactly is Planned Parenthood. Several people are under the impression that this program only deals with abortion; but, this is wrong. Activist that support Planned Parenthood believe that it is the government’s responsibility to provide government aid to help assist the underinsured and uninsured deal with the conflicts of pregnancy prevention or consequences of an unplanned pregnancy, as well as assisting with reproductive education, health screenings, and birth control. Those who are against the government providing funds to help the program Planned Parenthood, tend to be pro-life activist, who are against abortions. According to Planned Parenthood’s official government website, there are over eight million unique members, who support the group. These members tend to be pro-choice. Pro-choice means that a person supports the legalization of abortions. These supporters have helped create over 650 health centers, which provide the screenings that can detect certain cancers and sexually transmitted diseases and provide medication to treat sexually transmitted diseases for both men and women. The program also offers abortions for women that have an unintentional pregnancy either by having unprotected sex or because they were raped.
