It is always important to be where you are supposed to be. In the Army, every leader stresses the fact on being on time or being at the right place or being in the right uniform. So if you have to ask yourself is it important to be where you are told to be? I think most Soldiers and Leaders will tell you that it is very important. It is my responsibility to be where I am supposed to be. It is all about accountability. You have to keep track of your Soldiers. It is my responsibility and my leader's responsibility. They are responsible for my actions. When I talk about unit cohesion, I am referring to the collective efforts of the group. A unit generally shares a common goal and should be motivated to coordinate their efforts as a team to achieve that goal. Now, if you have a soldier that does not show up to help complete that goal, that soldier has not only placed more work on his/her unit members, but has effectively let his or her unit down. This can cause a multitude of problems that may affect the overall completion of a mission. And the Army is all about putting the mission first.
Morning formation is the most important formation of the day. It is made to get accountability of everyone and put out any information that needs to be dealt with. Without having accountability there is no knowledge of where everybody is or what's going on. Accountability is extremely important at this point of time, everyone is off doing other missions while the rest of us are still with the main group. With the holidays coming up the importance of accountability will heighten even more. With people going on leave and coming back off leave and others coming off missions such as op-fore and school, and trying to keep up with everyone and getting information out to everyone then accountability is that much more important.
