Big Five Style Survey The general consensus in academic psychology is that there are five fundamental personality traits which consists of: extraversion, conscientiousness, neuroticism, agreeableness, and openness. Extraversion reflects how much a person is oriented towards things outside of themselves and derive a satisfaction from interacting with other people, conscientiousness reflects how careful and orderly that individual is, neuroticism is the tendency to experience negative emotions, agreeableness reflects how much a person tries to please others, and lastly, openness reflects how much a person seeks out new experiences.
