Government Job
Government jobs are extremely appealing for people of any disciplinary field. Applied anthropologists work in different careers, domains, and projects in the public and private sector. The expertise that anthropologists have in dealing with individuals and the understanding of humans and culture have made them an ideal candidate to work with various publics, communities, and different environments. An area that I have personally become more interested as I have advanced in my graduate career is working for state parks. A career working in state parks has become so interesting to me for several reasons. One I have always attended and enjoyed state parks ever since I was a child, these parks are beautiful and they give people a way to escape their complicated, complex and busy lives. It also brings people and nature together, it is a way to observe how beautiful and delicate the environments and ecosystems are and how important it is to conserve and restore the environment we habitat and have destroyed.
As an applied anthropologist I would be able to assist in the conservation and restoration projects that the various parks intend to implement. I have an understanding on how individuals interact with their …show more content…
Some issues would be the conflict of the land and its use of it. Some tribes might have traditions or rituals that could cause conflict between state parks. Certain regulations on the ecosystem and environment could arise that would create conflict with other individuals. As an anthropologist working for the state parks I would have to discipline myself by obviously keeping the interest of the parks in mind and enforcing the policies and laws imposed by the government, but I would also have the moral obligation to help various different people and native tribes resolve and hopefully compromise on certain
