Why do you think people pushed for national parks in the 1800’s. People started to do want to get away from the more industrialized cities. Most people found nature being peaceful. So, they found these natural wonder, and they didn’t want it to turn into another Niagara Falls. Niagara Falls was a big shame on the US Government, and on the US citizens. This is because a lot of rich people bought the land around the falls, and you had to pay a very expensive amount to go see the falls. That is why people pushed for national parks.
