My mother raised my siblings and me as a single parent, and often our time was spent with one another. Our family dynamics only provided me with the opportunity to interact with other family members with limited interactions with people outside of our family. Even as I feel that this may have supported my journey to college, it, however, may have stunted my social skills. I feel that I did not develop the proper understanding of proper body language and social cue. Due to this, I had developed severe social anxiety.
