Personal Narrative: Fifth Grade At Boones Ferry Elementary School

Improved Essays
It was in the fifth grade at Boones Ferry elementary school. It was spring time, and the leaves were growing and the sun was shining that day. It was one o’clock at lunch time and a bunch of girls sat at a lunch table closest to the doors to outside. The lunch room was small and could only fit the fourth and fifth graders.
There were six of us at the table, Summer, Kaleah, Nicole, And maddie. Kaleah and I were not friends, and the only reason she sat with us was because we shared friends. The lunch room was so loud we could barely hear each other talk. Lunch was only thirty minutes long, but after lunch we got and hour of recess. After the half an hour was up a whistle was blown to tell up recess was starting.

It was 5:15 in the morning, and my mother had just finished giving birth to a healthy, 7 pound, baby girl—me. After I was born, my mother had to fend me off from dozens of nurses, who all wanted to hold me and take a look at me. My mother said that I was the chubbiest and cutest baby she had ever seen. My father and mother both cried tears of joy right after I was born. Apparently, I was the only girl to have been born in that hospital that whole night/morning.…

As a small, scrawny, confused 8th grade boy, the transition from a coed middle school - Roger Ludlowe Middle School - to Fairfield Prep was an enormous step for me socially and academically. At that time in my life, I was unsure if Fairfield Prep was going to be a good fit for me: all I had ever heard about the school were glowing reports from my older sister's friends who attended. Fortunately, looking back at it, attending Fairfield Prep was one of the most impactful and beneficial decisions I have ever made for myself as it inspired me to be "open to growth". This institution has not only pushed me academically, but it allowed me to stretch my comfort-zone and become more comfortable with myself.…

From my personal experience, when I was in elementary school I remember my teacher would let us sit on yoga ball it always helped me concentrate and it helped me when I was really active because I could not move around, it will make me fall if I move around. I like the idea of standing desks because I prefer standing a lot but when I need to I could sit down on the tool, but I could still move my legs around and be somewhat active. So if one day you're feeling antsy you can just stand. Also I think if your tired it could help you stay awake. Mark Benden also states that sitting desk can cause kids to be obese, he also says that too much sitting is bad for your health.…

I was in online schooling with K-12 at home. I was new to multiple classes and teachers, assignments on paper, and I was new to a lot of people around me. When I joined Derby Middle School, I thought of it like nothing, thinking that no effort would get me through the year, I thought that my grades didn’t matter as long as I get C or higher.…

Before attending Wilmington Early College High School (WECHS), I was not satisfied with my personality, nor was I happy with the way I was perceived by other people. Most would think that I should have been confident because in middle school I was in the AIG program. However, I never truly felt satisfied with myself. I always got good grades, but I never felt like I earned good grades. Although I was making straight As and Bs, it was always relatively easy to earn those marks in middle school.…

The summer between my sophomore year and junior year was a life changing period. For one, my mother and I moved to Waco, Texas, an 8-hour drive from my home of Weslaco. Along with this new address, I also had a new school. Naturally, I went to the school nearest my home, Connally High School. I was afraid to sharpen a pencil in second grade. My most vivid elementary school memories spring from instances when I was being reprimanded by an adult for doing something wrong. I did everything in my power to avoid those dreadful moments, but they still presented themselves on occasion. Even now I feel a pit in my stomach when I recall the way I felt during those times, regardless of the fact that almost all of them would easily roll off my back if they occurred today.…
