My father came to the United States when he was in his 20’s to live the American dream; “the ideal that every US citizen should have an equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard work, determination, and initiative” (“American Dream”) My father believed that if he worked hard enough he could achieve the American Dream and live a successful life with an equal opportunity as every other American. To start his new life he had to find a job, but the only work he was offered was harvesting crops in the fields of Arizona under the hot sun.
