Personal Narrative: My Life With My Father In The United States

At age twelve, I left the woman I love the most in Vietnam to start a new life with my dad in the United States. I was always wondering to myself that why my mom doesn't want to go with me, and our family can live together. But then as i've growing up, i realized that she sacrificed to stay there, so my dad can take care of me better. I remember the first day i went to middle school, i was clueless, i couldn't speak English and the people around me, we have different cultures, and ethinicity. When I was in Vietnam, i was the leader of my class, the person who is in charge of everything, i felt so confident and proud of myself. But in United States, I started isolating people, i feel inferiority and started developing a shell to cover myself from the world. …show more content…
At the first day of school, I realize how important it is to know English, I can't survive in America if i'm not speaking English at the age I suppose to school. At here, I met Mr. Davidson, he was the kindest teacher I’ve known, he teaches English Language Development class, and I was his student. I was a new immigrants, don't speak or can't understand what people wanted to say. Everything to me is a big fat zero, i'm no different from a baby, toddler learning to walk. Not like a roly poly doll, falls down seven times, stand up eight times, for me I like falling down the bottomless and never found the ground to stand up. But Mr. Davison gives me hope that I can do it, I have to trust myself, I accepted because I know, for me this is only temporary. Another time, when life here is familiar, familiar roads, good English, I'll be more possibilities to achieve my American
