During high school everybody changes a lot as people, but you never really think of how much you’ve changed as a writer. Throughout high school I’ve changed as a writer tremendously. I’ve gotten better at writing. Even though I still suck at it, I did improve. Things that I’ve improved on over the last few years are my spelling, sentences, and just going into more detail. These are all the ideas that I think I’ve improved the most throughout my high school career.
The most important aspect of my writing I think I’ve changed for the better is my spelling. In 9th grade my spelling was probably the worst part of my writing. I think the best way to explain it is just to show you. “Bad things happen when Bother tries to...” During this passage of the paper I wrote in 9th grade I spelled the word brother wrong! Like you gotta be joking the word brother wrong. I think you learn how to spell brother like in 1st grade, and I still couldn’t do it in 9th that's just pathetic. When I started high school my sentences would almost makes sense. During my 9th grade year my sentences were all over the map. Most of the sentences were put together nicely, but the other 25% were ugly. During my paper I wrote in 9th grade my sentences didn’t make any sense. Like in my paper Analysis of the Scarlet Ibis by James Hurst I stated “Now why bother the is dynamic character and Doodle is the static character.” During this part of my paper I was attempting to state who was the dynamic character and who's the static character is. I was able to state who was what, but I have no idea what I was thinking when I stated that sentence. After 9th grade I changed a lot so that really never happened again.
