Ive experimented with figurative language and sentence structure. Using figurative language helps me explain my own thinking. I use a lot metaphors and analogies when I talk to my friends, so for me figurative language helps my voice in writing. However, I’ve also learned figurative language is not always okay to use. Understanding the audience is a important part in deciding if using figurative writing is okay. Like when writing project #3, which was less formal, I was open to use figurative language. Ive also experimented a lot with sentence structure. Ive experimented by using quotations, parentheses, and commas to help give me some sentence variation. I hope to become a physical therapist. This would involve writing in a medical context. Id have to write evaluations on patients and communicate with other doctors. I may not be using metaphors, but I will have to clearly communicate my ideas through writing. For example if I refer a client to a specialist I will have to write clearly what I’ve found to ensure the patient gets the best care. I will also have to persuade patients to do what I say. Although it might not be persuasive writing, I can still apply some of the same concepts I've learned in my english 112
