In the lecture, these three methods are SBAR, team headline, and multidisciplinary rounds with using daily goal sheet. The first method being used which is SBAR should be something all nurses should be familiar with. This is the situation, background, assessment, and recommendation. The next method of communication is the team headlines. A method is a form of communication where everyone taking care of the patient can share information early in the shift. The last interdisciplinary method is multidisciplinary rounds using daily goals sheet. Justice is defined as giving the patient what they are due. It means treating the patient with fairly without regard to how they are going to pay, race, or gender. For an example, a patient cannot be turned away from the hospital just because they cannot pay. Beneficence is defined as acting in a way that is beneficial to the patient. For an example, on my unit, we tend to get patients out of the bed the first night of surgery unless contraindicated. It is beneficial to the patient because it helps to decrease post-op complications. Nonmaleficence is doing no harm to the patient. This is either intentional or unintentional. An example of this would be checking the order, dosage, and route of a medication to sure that it is the correct one. Another example of this would be monitoring for adverse side effects of medications. The final ethical principle is autonomy. This is allowing the patient to make their own decision without any outside
