As referenced earlier, the company believes that the current controversy surrounding the NFL has contributed to the sudden decline. With Papa John’s Pizza as the official sponsor of the National Football League it is possible that the company is losing business as a result of their highly advertised association with the NFL. Only time will tell if this marketing partnership has attributed or if the decline will continue past the football season.
