Dropout rates are down, graduation rates are up. The cost of college is very costly. As a result students ability to continue on with their education is limited. There are many that agree College tuition is too high and should be lowered and many that agree/ believe college tuition is reasonable and should remain the same. On the other hand, In the speech "Remarks by the President on America's College Promise” Barack Obama feels as though community college should be as free and as universal as high school. Obama builds an argument to persuade his audience by appealing to logic, using evidence and rhetorical devices. Obama appeals to logic to achieve his purpose by including, "That's why we're recruiting more highly trained math and science teachers. That's why we’re working to raise standards and invest more in our elementary and middle and high schools, so that every young person is prepared for a competitive world."
