February 28, 2016. Nurse Manager Inventory tool is a tool that enables the nurse manager revaluate herself in the context areas. (American Association of Critical- Care Nurses, 2006). This paper will address my strength/weakness as it relates to the following areas; reflective practice reference practice behaviors/tenets, personal journey disciplines, career planning, and personal and professional accountability, utilizing my leadership knowledge to impact changes in workplace, and to enhance my leadership experience. Personal Journey Disciplines I am a novice in this area. I am not a leader yet. I rated very effective on action learning. Based on my past experiences, I am able to make use of critical thinking strategies of ABC’s and Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs to proffer solution to problems. On the reflective practice, I possess a little experience of leadership behavior, though not a Manager yet. Strength I have a style that enables me to solve a problem and ideas on the judgement that I carry out. I am able to carry out leadership roles by being a charge in my unit. I am able to improve on this role from my prior omissions. Weakness I am not an efficient leader yet, so I have to improve my experience in leadership by training in leadership and management in order to achieve this goal. (Tomajan, 2014). Workplace violence is very high in health facilities, and I will make sure I organize in-service training yearly, and have staff attend them. The purpose of this meeting will be to make sure that staff do not give in to violence, and this strategy will help reduce the incidence of violence at workplace to 50%. Secondly, I will make sure I staff my unit, reduce nurse to patient ratio, and this will to prevent burnout, reduce medication errors as well as increasing patient satisfaction. I will allow open door policy to have my staff trust me and will also seek for their decision when an issue arises. I will be a role model to my staff and lead them with example. Improving
