Authentic Leadership Assessment

Thinking back to my leadership assessment in module 4, I scored a 74 which indicated that I was an ok leader, but I had potential to be much better. That is something that I can actually with. In my head, I believe I could be a great leader but there are somethings, mental things that prevent me from being that. In this week’s module we learned our several different types of leadership styles and approaches. I think I would more so follow the Authentic Leadership approach, the key in this style is to “Be yourself.” Also a lot of individuals who follow this approach are very self-aware. One thing about me is although I may have had many bumps along the way, I have used each one of those as a learning experience and I taking something with each experience that I use in the future and …show more content…
As a leader I believe that you are there to enhance your employees, so my goal would be to be of service to them to assist them in anyway. I’s also like to think I am a humble and open person which are also qualities found in a servant leader. Another that I really enjoy is being of service and volunteering, this is one thing that I happen to love about my leader in my present position. She is always finding ways for us to give back and be of service in a little over a year I’ve been able to be a part of projects with the homeless, domestic violence shelters, Habitat for Humanity, mentoring young girls and even spending time in an animal shelter. That is part of the reason why I wouldn’t really change anything about the leadership in my organization. They are always making sure that we are developing as individuals on top of being great at our job. We have time set aside time on the clock to do mentor trainings, professional developments plans, set goals and have established groups within the organization to support you like the Black Employee Network which I am a part of and have been provided the opportunity the listen and meet Dr. Cornell West, Dr. Bertice Berry and
