Nonprofit Organization Case Study

Our business is a nonprofit organization. We operate with a mission to strictly help strengthen the community by helping families who are in need. Even though we are a charitable organization, we do not operate like a traditional charity. We work on a web based food-buying program. This food-buying program allows a smooth transaction between our customers, which include donors and recipients. The donor is able to donate money that is loaded onto a card, allowing the recipient to shop in Publix Stores to purchase food items from a predetermined list. Our card system offers peace of mind to our donors knowing that their money is going solely towards nutritional food items. The card based system is also beneficial to our company due to the fact that we are able to save money on overhead costs; we give our customers the freedom to shop and retrieve their food items at any Publix Stores location, which lessens the amount of food storage needed for our organization. At the very top of the organizational hierarchy is the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors oversees the activities of our organization. Directly under the Board of Directors include the Fundraising Committee, Budget and Finance Committee, and Nominating Committee. The next step would be the Executive Director; he directly reports to the Board of Directors as well as to each committee. Right below the Executive Director includes each Vice president.
