The non-profit organization ISPIRE founded by Jesse Ramirez and his wife Blanca Trejo is one to my interest due to the reasons that I was involved with the organization. To empower the youth, families, and communities is their main purpose of the organization, but their main focus is getting students enrolled in high school to find and create a pathway after high school yet at the same time to see improvements within themselves. INSPIRE applies all types of services in their practices towards the main goal.
When it comes to the service of charity, INSPIRE is a 501 c3 public charity which means people can donate to INSPIRE and their money is tax deductible, it also means the organization is a tax exempt. There are different types of organizations who use the status different. One thing to keep in mind is, INSPIRE is a program based organization. The funds given to the organization are used towards the program for necessary expenses towards trainings, organizing, etc. so then the people involved don’t need to pay for the necessities and luxuries of what the program offers. …show more content…
A lot of direct service is done within schools, mainly high schools. An example I was able to part take in was when the principle of Hinkley High School came to the INSPIRE group with an issue that the sophomore 2015 class has become the class with the worst grades, attendance, and involvement. So we took the initiative of speaking in front of sophomore students during class, with the permission of teachers, to give have them thinking about their choices compared to our choices. It was a success, which improved all three areas by showing the students what the upperclassmen have overcome when in their
