How would you feel if there was no one to support you when your life is suddenly in turmoil, where your dignity as well as independence has been taken away from you, where you’re struggling completing the tasks that you used to complete without a second thought? As someone who has battled with mental health, fortunately, I have been given the support needed to aid my recovery from my family, friends and dedicated health and social care professionals. I learnt the importance of self-care and routine and expressing myself through the activities I enjoy, including my love for reading, as like me, many individuals find it extremely difficult to talk about our thoughts and feelings and require a different outlet.…

Non-verbal, actions speak louder than words and if a member is struggling in something and it can be witnessed through their body movement alone, it should be taken into account. Sometimes people will push themselves into uncharted waters and need assistance, but may not say anything. But by looking at the way a member communicates through their body you can learn a lot from them. if they are confident in their work, they may have a better posture, if they are bored you may see an occasional yawn here and there (by noticing this you can try to help them be more engaged in the work), if they are struggling you would be able to casually assist them rather than demanding they go up to you if they are in need of help.
