Some nonverbal behaviors that characterize some of my negative relationships include physical distance, avoiding eye contact, closed body language and little—if any—smiling. I’m not sure why one relationship became more positive. In the first relationship, I fell in love and we purposefully worked to fulfill one another’s needs in a meaningfully way. We also built upon mutual respect.…

A classroom is a wonderful place to learn and books have a huge part to play in that experience, but not all learning has to come through reading. Playing has a huge impact on learning and, especially a young child, who may not yet be able to read very much, will learn naturally through playing with their friends or on their own. Play activities can enhance all areas of learning and development. They can be general or directed specifically to address certain areas such as speaking and listening. As regards to reinforcing the communication we verbally make, gestures will help visualise and describe the content being communicated when words by themselves are unable to. Gestures might also complement the spoken word, an example being that you point in a certain direction when you say that you are going to school right now. This not only tells you where you're going verbally, but also tells the direction you're going using body language. An example with using facial expressions to reinforce verbal communication, is when we emphasize our emotions with them. When we are telling a story that makes us really angry, our facial expression (such as having your eyebrows narrowed and down) will confirm our emotion towards the story.…
