Mother in Manville Narrative

As I heard those words coming out Miss Clark's mouth, I felt an ache in the pit of my stomach , my palms started sweating, suddenly the only thing I heard I could hear my own heart beating. "Excuse me Ma'am " she spoke, I glared at her, I realized I must had been standing there longer than I thought and I said okay. I walked away feeling dizzy . I went back to the car and sat there, I looked at the mountain sky. They remind me of him, his marvelous blue eyes. I walked out of my car and headed for the woods not knowing where I was going,I had to find Jerry and tell him that I loved him. I started to heard mumbling, I turned around, at that moment I felt my heart drop down. It was Jerry he was there at a graveyard

For three years, Father had refused the idea of leaving North Carolina. But my brother, Ben, sent us another letter, addressed as he always did to John Benjamin Wilks and Katie. In the letter Ben was praising his new farm, the richness of the land and how many more acres he was clearing. He told of the bountiful crops of corn and wheat that he would be reaping in a few weeks, more corn and wheat per acre than Father had ever gotten from our old worn out farm in North Carolina. He told of the abundance of water, game, and timber.…

There are little bits and pieces of day to day life that I think of fitting together like a puzzle in order to form who we are. Some of the bigger events can have a profound ripple effect and can even change the way we perceive our friends, family and the world around us. Some of these changes are more subtle or subconscious, while others are very apparent such as a new job or a death. The most recent of these events was my grandmother passing.…
