It is astonishing how your life, or someone else’s life, can change in a blink of an eye, I thought during the car ride to the hospital. A man, my father, who had been an athlete in his adolescent years, full of power and energy, was now lying in a hospital bed. As I watched him lie there, hopeless and powerless, I couldn’t bear the fact that I had no control over the situation; it all lay in the doctor’s hands. The day began the same as usual; I get dressed, eat breakfast, and wait for my mother to get ready, so she can drive me to school. That morning my father left earlier than usual that day; I realized as I was staring into the empty parking space, where he parked his ‘bumblebee’ colored electric scooter. The walk to my English class felt like a haze, since I stayed up to 2 in the morning last night writing my memoir. As I was sitting there; listening to Mrs.McClyde’s monotonous speech, the announcement speakers came on with a static voice saying “Can you please send Pedro Sanchez to the main office, he is leaving early.” As I was packing my half torn binder; why my mom is picking me up this early, I thought to myself. My parents would never allow me to leave school early, since they wished me to get an education that they never had the chance to receive. I walked out of the room without saying a word, I strolled into the main office. There was my mother standing there, when I stared into her eyes I knew something was wrong.
