Career Exploration Essay Sample

My journey through career exploration this year has been the most useful experience I have had to date in regards to figuring out what I would like to do with the rest of my life. I have had many opportunities because of this course to explore different resources, such as career panels, mock interviews, and online resources such as glassdoor.com for the variety of careers that are available to me, and how I can go about pursuing them. I am thankful for how much I have learned in this course and I am sure that I will continue to utilize the vast information I have accumulated throughout this semester. The career that I have chosen upon is marketing in the luxury retail market for clothing, preferably Yves Saint Laurent. I would like to be a Marketing Executive focusing on brand management and product development. I have learned that what makes me unique is my analyzation skills and my ability to understand people at a deeper level (Dr. Ozcam). I know that a marketing career at Saint Laurent will provide me with a lovely career in that it is a fast paced environment where customer gratification is always put first, which is something that I respect because a lot of companies are only in it for the profits, and not customer satisfaction. I chose to research this career because I wanted to see what environment I would like to work in and was interested in fashion, changing markets, and customer happiness (Yves Saint Laurent). This career matches with my strengths of adaptability, analytical, focus, futuristic. This career will provide me with an opportunity to develop my extrovertedness in that I will be connecting with many people and need to be able to sell a product, thus it is important to speak with others
