In order to discuss with Georgie the “significant life events and historical forces” that influenced her in the time period in which she grew up (1956 – 1974), I acquired a list of these happenings from http://alterdestiny.blogspot.com/2010/08/top-100-events-in-american-history.html. Georgie’s mother was upset at the Catholic Religion for their beliefs against birth control pills when they were approved in 1960 and was, therefore, unable to take the pills. As a result of her parent’s religious beliefs, Georgie has five siblings, three of which were in diapers at once.
Georgie’s parents followed politics very closely, always voting. Georgie remembers her mother stating that people who built bunkers during the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962 were being ridiculous, and then when John F.
