My Encouragement During The Post-Acts Simulation

It was a brief moment but it frightened me because I felt uncertain of my capabilities and the adequacy of my contributions to the organization. I was struck by the weight of the work that was yet to be done; the academic requirements and organizational responsibilities. It may not seem as a big threat to one’s performance but for someone who strives to keep an optimistic mindset like myself, it can cause a great deal of personal affront because I’ve always been very enthusiastic when it comes to the BMS activities.

I was able to overcome this obstacle by reminding myself of why I joined JOTP in the first place; why

This paper will be discussing The McKinney-Vento Act. It all began in the early 1980s, when the responses to widespread and increasing homelessness was dealt with on a local. In 1983, the first federal task force on homelessness was created to provide information to localities on how to obtain surplus federal property (Education for Homeless Youth, 2006). President Ronald Reagan was not in favor of creating homeless services and felt that the issue did not require federal intervention. Advocates around the country demanded that the federal government acknowledge homelessness as a national problem that required a national response.…

Michael, I have to agree with you, this was a challenging yet rewarding semester! Honestly, I love classes like this because at the end of the semester I end up taking so much with me to use at work and home. In addition, I really enjoyed Dr. Thomas pushing our minds to think more critically about our adaptive plans and expanding our limited points of view when dealing with adaptive management. The readings supported the lesson’s we learned each week and were great aid’s in reassessing and advancing components of our plan.…

Pre-Experience Journal Entry I was born to be an engineer. I grew up playing math games, building lego sets, and taking apart electronics. My Senior Capstone Experience (SCE) will definitely be in the area of engineering. More specifically, I would love to do either computer science or electrical engineering, as these are the areas I want to major in when I go to college. I came to GSMST because I have always had an interest in engineering, and GSMST has only made that interest stronger.…

I believe that my current experience is not only beneficial but an absolute requirement to be a successful BCBA. I do believe that based on my current education and experience I know a great deal about Applied Behavior Analysis, but I am far from knowing as much as my supervisors. I am very fortunate to work with six highly educated BCBA’s that are able to teach me the “in’s and out’s” of Applied Behavior Analysis. They have shown me important skills outside of implementing programming and have demonstrated understanding and patience with me. I have been able to see some of the miniscule details involved in the treatment process of a child diagnosed with Autism or have an acquired brain injury.…

The Maine School of Science and Mathematics in Limestone, Maine was placed 19th out of all High Schools in the United States by 2017 U.S. News Best High Schools list(“Best High Schools in America, Best High School Rankings, U.S. News”), and I am proud to call it my High School. I found out about this prestigious school from my seventh grade science teacher, whose two sons graduated from MSSM. She advised me to attend a week of the summer camp program held here and I immediately knew, ‘this is where I want to go to school’. My decision to come to MSSM was based on the fact that it is the perfect high school to help me achieve the goals I want to strive for, such as gaining personal growth, creating new experiences, and acquiring a job in a scientific field later on.…

I feel that this 2 phase simulation has definitely enhanced my personal skills within leadership and teamwork but I definitely feel this was not the result from the simulation alone. Since the team went for a more democratic style leadership, I was able to utilise 2 main management models I learnt about within this course one being the “Situational Leadership Model”. This was highlighted within my actions more so in the second simulation rather than the first and it defined my position within the team which depended on how each member would respond to situations along the simulation. Due to my personal motivation within the second simulation, I was always looking for opportunities in which I could further progress both my goals and my team members goals at the same time thus having the path-goal theory representing my role within the team. Since the team was really motivated to do well in the second simulation after our poor performance in simulation 1, I could agree that the group was at the fourth stage of readiness where a majority did the best they could in attempt to improve our results and we viewed each other’s inputs equal to any other team member.…

Management 101, consisted of many stimulating and informative topics. However, learning the contrast of the X and Y management theories was exceedingly practical and most enjoyable in comparison to all the other topics discussed. This class thoroughly taught me the different perspectives and benefits of each theory and that they are undoubtedly are essential in building a strong and effective foundation in management. It will not only be a challenge, but an enjoyable task taking on the personal challenge of merging the benefits of both theories. For example, not only rewarding good performances, but also motivating employees to work on their own and empowering them to make independent decisions that they can be proud to be a part of.…
