Working in such a field ( hospitality Management ) requires a lot of motivation , there are many tasks that must be done on time and that are critical such as pleasing the guest , being at work on time , being fully prepared and having a smile on your face even though you are going through a bad day. At the beginning I wasn’t successful at understanding how the system works because it was a bit complicated , answering the phone was the hardest one because working in such a field is critical , customers always expect that you must know the exact right answer to their question . Having a supervisor helped me facing the challenges I had and that is by explaining couple tricks on how to achieve my goals at the end of the training

Since I lived far away from the hotel and I had other responsibilities to do it was a bit hard reaching the hotel on time but I always succeeded being there on time and sometimes 10 minutes before my duty started , it was an accomplishment that made me proud of myself , it proved how responsible I was since the first time I started . Hospitality is all about time management . Participating in the minutes in the morning was another thing I was happy with since I took PBL classes it was easy for me to adapt the way of reporting the minutes of the meeting , that helped a lot . After many days watching what my supervisor did and many questions I asked I was able to go to the next step and do simple things such as escorting guests to their destination , taking guests complaints and transferring their calls . Rotating into 4 different departments was very helpful to check how each system works and how each manager has his own way of managing the team . The concept is the same in the 4 departments they all have the opera system where they get guests complaints on and that helps the department to improve and to avoid the same …show more content…
After working hard and trying my best to reach my managers and colleagues expectations I received the comments and grades I was hoping I get . Being responsible , sticking to rules , being presentable , sociable and productive were the key that helped me to get those outstanding results . It wasn’t easy at the beginning since it was my first experience but having all the support from staff and management was a major push that helped me to achieve them . Two major goals I had during this internship were working on new tasks while depending on myself and solving problems in a very rational calm way whether I faced any . Working in such field requires dealing with different people from all around the world so many have different way of thinking and different strategies and that could lead to facing many challenges , I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to do it but I actually did it . As such feedbacks I got reflected on my goals positively I guess that what helped me the most was one of my characteristics “ being sociable” I like interacting with people and I am flexible I can corporate with most of the people . Not only that but I also was the first to achieve many online IHG courses and my name was hanged on the wall under “ the top 5 achievers of the month” . As an overall I was very satisfied with the feedback I got and with my experience
