However, cannabis factories will soon be producing it soon for medical treatment of epilepsy. A certain compound in the marijuana substance called cannabidivarin (CBDV) has shown a significant help in treating epilepsy. Although that seems to be a pro, the con is the it would require that 10 percent of people would require at least 1500 tons of CBDV. Experts find this extremely difficult because they would need to produce large amounts of marijuana just to extract the small amounts of CBDV. The chemical is very little and would be hard to harvest traditionally. Companies are working on different agriculture techniques. …show more content…
Epilepsy has affected 50 million people around the world and statistics show that those people are three times more likely to die prematurely. Interestingly enough, 30 percent of those people don't have positive effects from the medicines that are available. Clinics have been held for epilepsy patients and the popularity is growing everywhere. CBDV is supposedly not the only product scientist are interested in using for their medical treatment. Rumor has it that CBDV is only one of a few dozen different kinds of substances found in the marijuana plants. It is said that if more medicines are found then the yeast-based production growth will increase exponentially. Canada is ahead of the United States in this process because they are only the second country to officially legalize marijuana. The medical purposes heavily contributed to the decision to legalize it. The demand for yeast-based THC has increased
