Brutus is asking for the plebeians fed back because he wants to know what they are thinking and if he has provided enough information on why he killed Caesar so that they will agree with him. This is a short and simple summarization of Brutus’ speech, he then introduces Marc Anthony to speak at Caesar’s funeral. “Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears; I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him.” (Act 3, Scene 2, Lines 80-81). He truly believed that Caesar would have become a tyrant, because of that Brutus put his country before his friends and even his family to join the conspiracy to kill Caesar. Even though Caesar was his friend, Brutus ' loyalty as a Roman citizen came first. Brutus ' tragic flaw is that he is not a very good judge of character, and he trusts Cassius too much. He also underestimates Marc Antony and allows him to speak to the crowd after Caesar 's death. Although Antony does as promised in that he does not say anything against the conspirators, his use of verbal irony and dramatic actions turns the crowd into an angry mob.
