I love my patients like they are family, as a nurse you are their family when their real family is not there. You are the one who holds their hand when their emotions get the best of them, it’s not the janitor or the doctor it’s you the nurse. I truly hope those nurses in this book who needed any kind of medical help, got treated like they were gold, like any patient deserves to be treated because I’m sure Julie had forgiven them long ago for her own piece of mind. The feeling that those rotten nurses will feel the guilt is what they deserve, to feel for all the horrible things they said and did to her. I have always tried my best as a certified nurse’s assistant to treat every resident like my own grandma or grandpa and feel the halls and rooms with as much joy as I can. If a resident is not smiling then it’s time to do something else that will make them smile, if they are crying I sit down and talk to them about it. It is an extra mile I choose to take daily even when I am having a bad day there is no reason to make it worse by having a crummy attitude. It is my goal in life to open up a retirement facility in the mountains where we can go on walks in the trees and smell the fresh air and go fishing and anything that those residents want to relax but I will only let people work there who vow to be positive at all times. You never know what is going on in people’s personal lives and being that friendly smile and shoulder to cry or whatever they need, I want to be that person to lighten their day or put that smile back on their face. Nobody deserves to be treated with a negative or careless attitude. This book makes me dream even bigger; and I promise no matter where I work or what kind of work I do there will always be kind words coming out of my mouth and a smile on my face because that is
