That is not the case when referring back to the book because the victims of the tapes were considered cruel have affected others in a negative way. These so called “antagonist” are categorized as cruel even though they didn’t know they were doing something wrong before it was too late. For example, when Alex was blamed as one of the people that caused Hannah’s death, he was classified as brutal by most readers. This would be a wrong analyses of his character for he didn’t know he did something wrong until he saw the tapes. Therefore, Alex’s actions were not meant to be brutish but as an emotional release from his hardships. What Alex had not realized was that his attempt to stop his hardships had caused someone else to gain distress. So is a person really cruel if he wants to solve his own problems and is unaware that he is causing affliction to others?
Everyone should understand that life is not perfect; there are bad days and good days. The people that move forward are the people that shrug off negative comments, communicate with others about their feelings, and always try to have a positive aspect – as was demonstrated by the novel Thirteen Reasons Why. People should realise that there is alway positivity in their life, they just need to find it. When everyone understands this people will learn to appreciate their lives more and not be depressed. This book teaches people something great but readers just have to look a little deeper to understand
