Tuality home health is a home health agency that sees patients in Washington county and surrounding areas. The services provided through home health are skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and social work. Home health has to be ordered by a doctor in order for patients to be admitted to service. Skilled nursing care provided to patients to patients consists of catheter care, wound care, ostomy care, diabetes management and education, congestive heart failure management and education, medication management, home safety education, and many more. Nurses at Tuality Home health show compassion in a variety of ways. One way nurses show compassion is by following up with patients about care needs. For example there was a patient whose wife died recently and a nurse wanted to check with the family to see how they were doing. The nurse made a point to make a visit with that patient, follow up with his care needs, and assess if there was anything she could provide for comfort for that patient. This showed a genuine kindness and desire to help a patient during a time of need. The nurses genuinely care for the patients by providing quality care for them through compassion everyday with soft words and reassurance of care. All the nurses care not only about their patients, but also about each other. They show this through kindness and commitment to help each other during times of need. For example, during the weekend only 2 nurses are on staff. During one weekend, both nurses were overloaded with patients to see. When one nurse had a patient become unenviable for a visit, instead of just moving on and getting done with her day early, she called the other nurse working to see if she could help her in anyway to make her day better.
