• Instead of having meetings every morning, briefings at Mugg & Bean can take place on WhatsApp. A group chat with all the workers can be formed and everything can be discussed there.
• Once a week a brief meeting can take place with everyone present – where any issues can be brought up as well.
• Having the meetings take place virtually will give the kitchen crew more time to prep and to make sure that everyone has enough time to prepare the restaurant to perfection.
• While the waiters are waiting for the customers the manager can go around reminding them of good service etc.

need to be different to those of the competition in order for them to have more customer support and for the customers to keep coming back. They already give customers the option to personalise their order.
• Product Development: They could start selling their hot chocolates on the market or have a premix for their muffins on the market just as they have their coffee.

Recommendations:

• Whenever a new Mugg & Bean opens they should make sure that the staff is trained at an existing Mugg & Bean ( as they did with the Namibian restaurant) to ensure quality of service.
• Need to continue the focus on their service – that is the way customers will keep coming back.
• Make all Mugg & Beans family orientated. Provide play area for the kids and offer them a separate ‘kiddies’ menu.
• Make sure all Mugg & Bean restaurants are Halaal approved. This will grow the client base and generate more revenue in the end.
• Could employ more staff in the kitchen so that the food is served a bit faster but still ensuring that the food is of quality. Although this may cost more it will improve the quality of Mugg & Bean’s service.
• Should make waiters wear ‘anti-xenophobic’ badges to show that they don’t condone xenophobic attacks.
