When it comes to write your ideas in paper, you might be struggled; especially if the language in which you are writing is a second language. In my case this class, English 111 taught by Dr.Ellen McKenzie, was one of my challenging class I have never seen in College, and I was wandering if I could overcome it. But, my determination reinforced by my teacher’s teaching method have made more successful in this class. I was surprised by how much I actually learned and also how much I developed the writing skills in the different papers I have written during this semester. I tried reading the samples we were given and that helped, but what made it possible for me to write the narrative was going through the writing process step by step. I sat down and eventually came up with an idea centered on a “literary” memory/experience. Once I had had that experience, I began the graphic organizer process, followed by a rough draft, and then a solid final draft. The first part of that assignment wasn’t too bad, a short literacy narrative. My real struggle happened when I began trying to expand the short narrative into a full length essay. It was very difficult for me to elaborate without making mistakes in the essay. After a considerable amount of time attempting to tweak and expand on the first essay, I finally understood and began to add detail and description. I found the peer’s review process of this essay very helpful, not only with grammatical errors and tense usage, but also with the overall style of my essay. After my instructor’s suggestions on the different papers , the several articles summarizing and the different peers’ reviews all based on the learning disponible resources I had in this class, my writing improved and made me more confident in my
