Letter To Lycoming College

Decent Essays
I have received a letter concerning my academic suspension from Lycoming College for the Spring semester. And I am writing this because I want to appeal to continue my studies at Lycoming College. I want to continue my educational journey and experience at Lycoming College on academic probation. I have never been afraid of a challenge, especially one that I know will benefit myself and my future. My Fall semester grades are a poor representation and I can assure you I was not prepared at all. During my first semester, I thought I could do it on my own not to rely so much on my resources and instead of relying on them heavily, I rarely asked for help. And even when I did visit Dr. Kingery once a week, it wasn’t enough because that was just one

Schools, such as Loma Linda University, have built their organization on the foundation of faith. Those who attend have similar beliefs and strive to live a life guided by Christ. A faith-based education would be of special benefit to me, as I desire to be part of peers and educators that aspire to merge learning and faith together. The support and encouragement that this type of community would provide is immeasurable to any other college. I individually want to attend LLU because it will give me the opportunity to challenge myself intellectually, promote my spiritual growth, and develop my leadership skills.…

Papa Seck is an MSBC student with 15 credit hours completed and a 3.2 GPA. In his last course, in session 3, he earned a second C, which requires his dismissal under the current policy. I advised him of the grade appeal process, yet he was unsuccessful in his appeal to his instructor. Mr. Seck earned all As during his first three courses, but his grades began to suffer when he took a second job. He has assured me that he is no longer working the second job and will be able to focus on his education.…

I would like to appeal because I put a lot of effort into being in the National Honor Society this year. Whether that was doing all the volunteer opportunities or service projects I was available to do with my many other extra curricular activities or keeping my grades to the NHS standard. Unfortunately, some unexpected challenges came up this semester causing me to have three B’s. Towards the beginning of the semester, my grandfather unexpectedly passed away. This took a toll on me emotionally, but I still continued to try my hardest at school and keep myself not only to my high standards but the NHS’s as well.…

I kept the same habits from high school, where I wouldn't ask for help even if I needed it, and tried to do things entirely on my own. Since that wasn't working, and the end of the semester nearing, I did something I never did back in high school: I sought tutor help. The tutor I met with, Cecilia, not only helped me craft near perfect lab reports that were needed to narrowly pass the class, she also inspired me to be a better person. It turns out, which I later found out, that university tutors are not required to help with lab reports. Thus, it occurred to me that Cecilia helped me out of her own whim.…

As Allison Abernathy’s supervisor it is my sincere honor to write this letter of recommendation. Allison Abernathy has been employed as a Financial Aid Advisor at Texas State University since February 2016. During her time here, Allison has been responsible for financial aid protocols, federal regulations, and the transmission of that data to more than fifty students per day. This is a daunting task that many lack the mental acumen to perform, or the preserverance to maintain, the high level of professionalism she brings to our office.…

I am applying for readmission, as I would like to start afresh and improve the mistakes I had made in my first term ( Fall 2016). Since my last registration at University of Waterloo, I took lessons/help from fellow students on how to take tests, how to take proper notes and also how to be successful in the courses I will be taking in the future. Furthermore, I have been refreshing my memory by reading and making notes of the classes I previously had done. During my first term, my main issue and why I could not perform to my full capabilities, was because I was not sure how to take notes, how to study for classes etc. Even though, I studied hard and did not procrastinate in any of my courses, I did not receive the marks I wished for and the…

"Academic probation" is the most common term colleges and universities use to illustrate that a student is not reaching academic standards as required by the institution. Academic probation usually means that a student's grades and/or GPA are not high enough to continue in school if they have not made any progress and stayed at a plateau with their grade and/or GPA. Academic probation does not just apply for not meeting the school’s academic standards; it can be for a variety of reasons, but most of the time it will be for not meeting…

I will try to keep this brief so as not to waste too much of your valuable time that could be spent doing something much more important. As you know, earlier in the year I was suspended for striking another student. Then more recently got into an engagement with a 7th grader, who shall remain unnamed to protect her privacy, that caused a disruption at the wrestling banquet. I cannot express how sorry I am for doing such and I wish I could go back and calm myself down. I do have a certain complaint concerning this incident, but that's not the reasoning behind this letter.…
