Leader's Core Value Audit

Values The Leader’s Core Value Audit is very crucial to the success and effectiveness of the leader. According to Malphurs (2003), “Your core ministry values explains why you do what you do as a leader in your ministry” (p. 134). After taking the audit, I found out why I do the things I do. Fairness is very important to me. Treating people with the same respect I demand is only right. In addition, Bible knowledge is a must when leading God’s people. For the Bible declares, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). The truth of the scriptures is what lead us to walk in obedience. Giving is essential. Giving is a kingdom principle. It takes money to run the church effectively. Prayer is another discipline that is imperative for the betterment of the church. In addition, to the above-mentioned worship, evangelism, and operating in a spirit of excellence is significant. Moreover, cultural relevance is one area I will have to improve on. Sometimes it is more comfortable to deal with the people that …show more content…
God has graced every member to serve I a certain capacity. Serving where God intended will make you most effective in what you do. This is the reason why God gave everyone different gifts. There are a few things that I do not intend to focus on. The size of the congregation does not bother me. I would rather have less who are effective than to have many who are not effective. I would like for the congregation to be diverse with men, women, and children. Families are what makes up the church. It is imperative to have ministries that cater to each member of the family. This is the reason why an outreach team is important. A diverse church with all kind of people is very important. The body of Christ is not gender, ethnicity, or demographically

In previous assignments, I distinguished between authentic and servant leadership approaches. Authentic leadership focuses on qualities that help leaders to be perceived as trustworthy and believable by their followers (Northouse, 2012). One of the many strengths of authentic leadership is that it fulfills a need for trustworthy leadership (Northouse, 2012). According to Northouse (2012), servant leaders put followers first, empower them, and help them develop their full personal capacity. Servant leaders build strong relationships with others by giving followers the support they need, involving them in decisions, and building a sense of…

Week Three Devotional God is in the people business and the command is simple; go, baptize, and teach. Why? Because Jesus, being in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with God, said so. The slave is not greater than the Master and as His bond servants, our obedience is not optional but is a requirement. “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” (Rom 10:17 KJV). The aim of this paper is to take the teachings, experiences, learnings and knowledge gained throughout my experiences during the 2015 Haskayne wilderness retreat (retreat), and apply them to uncover the foundations required to become a leader and what is required of a responsible leader in the context of sustainability in today’s business environment. Furthermore, I will offer my opinions on the key leadership take a ways I learnt while on the retreat, and how these lessons can be operationalized and put into practice personally and professionally. Throughout the week at the retreat I came to a realization that in order to be a leader, oneself must inherently be a leader themselves. A leader can do so in its simplest form by being completely…

Fenwick; thank you for your post, it was enjoyable to read, and most enlightening. It is one’s opinion that it is true as you stated the most important leading any Christian can do involves leading someone to Christ. In addition, one would concur that three most important aspects of the Christian life are Bible study, prayer, and soul winning; with soul winning the most need in the leadership challenge. A leader must openly witness for the Lord before he is formally employed by the Church, he will not be much of soul-winner afterwards (Frank Damazio 1987, 113).…

What values are important to resolve public and nonprofit sector ethical dilemmas? Values are essential to the success of public and nonprofit organizations. Rokeach (1968) defines values as “a single belief that transcendentally guides actions and judgments across specific objects and situations, and beyond immediate goals to more ultimate end-states of existence” (Rokeach, 1968, pg. 160). One’s congregation could be based on family ties, one may be based on relationships, one may like strong leadership from a pastor, another might like decisions made by the church body, and some by the elders. All this was very enlightening to me. When a new pastor is equipped with an understanding of church culture, he can adapt his leadership skills to that culture and avoid a number of potential problems. To illustrate this, I’ll share with you a story about new pastor we hired years ago. The church was in a small town made up of mostly ranchers and farmers that were given a lot of government assistance to help subsidize their farms and their families.…

Assessing and assessment reports within the church are a crucial and essential part of creating organization and order within the church administration and staff. You have got to know where you are before you can make a plan toward where you sense God is leading. Without assessments and reporting in the church; acquiring higher quality servant leaders would be difficult to attain. In this active culture of today it’s necessary to have just as much of an active church administration. Robert Welch, dean of the School of Education Ministries and professor of administration at Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary, explains in Church Administration: Creating Efficiency for Effective Ministry, that within church administration “there should be…
