Gone Wild Rhetorical Analysis

My overall goal in life is to wake up every morning and not dread going to work. I want to be able to face a new challenge, help others, and make a difference no matter how big or small. I want to take pride into what I do and not just think of my job as an action to survive. I believe it is difficult to do so in a scene where a good handful of people do not give you the full respect deserved. In the article “Congregation Gone Wild”, G. Jeffrey MacDonald claims that Congregations have shifted their way of approaching their audience in order to “sooth” churchgoers and keep them on their side. Pastors forced to tell stories instead of delivering sermons in order to play it safe. The amount of respect for clergy is dropping and selfish churchgoers are only thinking of what God can do for them instead of what they can do for God.
Many pastors are now titled as “entertainers” instead of difference makers. I found it offensive how churchgoers want their

I am aware that it is difficult to accept challenges that make us step out of the comfort zone we are accustomed to, but that is where the support comes in. The beauty of having a church community that offers their assistance in a variety of ways. Whether it is spiritually, emotionally, or physically; they are chosen to guide, challenge, and listen to those whom want to be a better person.
This reading made me remember how selfish I used to be and how glad I am to not be that person anymore. The amount of time Pastors invest to aid us is under appreciated. Being aware of this problem has made me value more the amount of work and dedication Pastors offer. Reaching out to clergy, taking risks, being open minded, opening the doors to God are all important roles churchgoers can play in a church community. All the resources needed are there, the only person getting in the way of obtaining them is

The article “Miscalculation on Visas Disrupts Lives of Highly Skilled Immigrants” (2015), by Julia Preston, states the State Department and Homeland Security allowed the department to give anticipating immigrants news of them being able to take the next step to obtain a green card. The author provides background information about the situation, along with reasons as to why the incident occurred, and its impact on immigrants. Preston establishes ethos before the article starts, as she is a reporter of a reputable newspaper, which gives her credibility. he function of pastor that best engages me and my calling is that of the pastor as a counselor; Willimon talks about the curate in this function in chapter seven in his book Pastor. There are many reasons why I see this role important in my vocation as a chaplain. There are several ways in which this image related to my emerging ecclesiology. The first thing I can relate to is what Tim Crutcher talks about in chapter six on “tradition at its best”. The early concept of the church is that the church is all alone (76).…

Satan has been working against the church from and early time causing this concerns to rise, but looking at the views Paul 's warnings in (2 Timothy 3) about the increase of apostasy in the last days and what we are witnessing today in the church, Paul 's instructions in (Him 1:3-7 are very significant. Hierarchical, authoritarian, programmatic church leaders make little sense to a generation inherently skeptical of cold institutions and corrupt leadership. Highly visible, fallen church leaders, impeached political leaders, and amoral celebrities have only served to sustain their skepticism. Positional authority figures have little, lasting impact upon them. If a leader is not personally approachable in style and character, they will not voluntarily follow. They value diversity, mutuality, and inclusive interactions, while affirming democratic role models.…

Pastor’s responsibility lies in rightly dividing the word of truth and that is Jesus Christ. Consequently, it is the false teaching, sexual misconduct, and misleading of finance are considered the number one areas of weakness in the churches. I started the interview by asking Pastor Jacque to describe her call to ministry. More precisely I asked her to describe her calling from the time she first received it up until now. During this question Pastor Jacque began by telling me about her background and early life. She informed me that she was born and raised in Santiago California, to parents that she described as people who didn’t have everything put together.…
