Brunswick has been blessed by God to have had two very transformational and ethical pastors serve the congregation during this time of change. They have both been very spiritual in their beliefs and very open to the community. They have sought out ways to be inclusive to everyone within the church and the community. “Discussions of spirituality cover a broad and increasingly complex spectrum of beliefs, practices, and approaches within and beyond traditional circles. For our purposes, spirituality refers to a way or ways of seeking or becoming in relationship with the other, who is believed to be worthy of reverence and highest devotion. With this definition I am concerned with the other as inclusive of both individuality and community. The

The contemporary debate on immigration policies provide a sobering look at the deep and abiding fissures that plague narrow and myopic visions of leadership. Immigration is an issue not just of what constitutes citizenship, desert, and entitlement in our democracy, but of who will lead”6 Pastor Ruth Ann is the first female pastor that Brunswick Church has had in it's history. All of the other pastors have been middle age, white males. When Pastor Ruth Ann was appointed to lead Brunswick it caused a few people to question a female pastor leading the church. Pastor Ruth Ann probably had to prover herself more than any other pastor that Brunswick ever had. It became apparent very early on that she was very “morally anchored” and had the best interests of Brunswick at heart. “Ethical leadership posits demagoguery's opposite, inviting positive and creative exchanges through imaginative leaps of possibility anchored by the virtues of integrity, empathy, and hope. Thus the development of morally anchored character becomes all the more important. The attending virtues of integrity, empathy and hope are indispensable for ethically grounded leadership.”7. Pastor Ruth Ann has demonstrated a hope for Brunswick that was lacking from the pastoral staff, before pastor Bart, and the congregation. She has been able to motivate the congregation to become part of the vision for Brunswick. Not only has she been able to articulate this vision, she has been able to present it to the congregation in such a way that many more are now on board with the direction Brunswick must go to become a growing, thriving church
